The “Elgin Marbles” are a collection of Ancient Greek sculptures from the Parthenon and other structures from the Acropolis of Athens, removed and transported from Ottoman Greece to Britain by Thomas Bruce, 7th Earl of Elgin, and now displayed in the British Museum in London. The majority of the sculptures were created in the 5th century BC under the direction of sculptor and architect Phidias.

This non-commercial project brings together some of these items for everyone to explore in 3D and Augmented Reality (AR), using a desktop / mobile device and web browser.

The project is not affiliated with any Greek or British government institution. Its aim is to showcase how modern technology can enhance history and culture, while making it widely accessible through the use of available resources and digital tools.

Now let’s start exploring!
